This chart breaks a debate round down for you. “CX” means cross-examination, but we’ll get to that later.
Remember: 1/2 mean first or second, A/N mean affirmative or negative, and C/R mean constructive or rebuttal.
So who gives what speech? Well, you’ll receive a speaker position from your coach. You’ll either be a 2A/1N, which means you speak second for the affirmative and first for the negative, or a 2N/1A, which means you speak second for the negative and first for the affirmative. The details will be further explained in a later section.
