The Atlanta Urban Debate League is committed to providing excellent debate education programs, services, and opportunities to diverse students, educators, and members of the community!
For the 2021-22 season, the AUDL’s virtual tournaments will be hosted via Yaatly. This page will link to a few guides on how to sign up for Yaatly before tournaments and navigate the virtual space during tournaments.
There are a few things coaches MUST do for their schools to participate in virtual tournaments:
Create an “Organization” representing your school on Yaatly.
Invite debaters to be members of your Organization using their email addresses.
Invite judges to be members of your Organization using their email addresses.
For each virtual tournament, the AUDL will provide an Event Invitation Link. Clicking on “Invite your organization” from the Event Invitation and then selecting the Organization for your school will make the tournament visible to all members of your Organization. From their accounts, students and judges will be able to “RSVP” to the event/tournament.
Please do not share the Event Invitation Link directly with students or judges. Accepting the invitation will allow them to RSVP to the tournament from their accounts.
There are 2 things students and judges must do to access Yaatly:
Create an account using the email invitation to become a member of their school’s Organization
RSVP to the tournament from their Yaatly account.
Students and judges should create their Yaatly accounts via an email invitation from their school’s coach/Organization manager. Students and judges should NOT go to the Yaatly website and attempt to create a new Organization.
Once the coach has invited their organization to an event/tournament, students and judges will be able to see the event and RSVP to the tournament from their Yaatly accounts.

On the day of a tournament, all Organization members who have RSVP’d to the event will be able to view the event from their Yaatly accounts. After clicking on the event, they will be able to click on “Enter” to be admitted to the virtual tournament. Make sure participants access Yaatly via a computer/laptop/Chromebook, NOT a smart phone or tablet. Google Chrome is the most compatible web browser to use with Yaatly. Click here for a full list of connectivity tips for Yaatly.
In the virtual space, there will be several “rooms” available.
Coaches should report to the “Ballot Table” to check in with AUDL staff.
Students should report to the “Auditorium” and confirm that they are present with their coaches.
Judges should report to the “Judges’ Lounge” to check in with AUDL staff.
If a participant is having technical issues, they should go to the “Help Desk” to be assisted by AUDL staff.
Once pairings have been released, Competition Rooms will become available. Students and judges should find their assigned round in the list of rooms and click “Join” to go to their room.
In an individual competition room, participants should see a list of roles for the room (each team and the judge). Students and judges should select their role.
